Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya was formed by Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Act 13, 1998, in 1998. The Madhya Pradesh government founded the university as a common university for all technical institutes in the state, namely the schools of engineering and pharmacy. The NAAC has awarded the university a Grade “A” accreditation.
The institution is located in the city’s outskirts, at Gandhi Nagar. There are 247 acres total on the property. The site includes residential buildings for faculty and staff, research centers, sports and recreation facilities, instruction blocks, workshops, library blocks, and student dormitories.
